Dean practices primarily in the area of insurance litigation.  He handles a broad variety of cases including matters relating to insurance coverage, property damage, product liability, professional liability, occupiers’ liability, municipal liability and motor vehicle accidents. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Appeal and has prepared written submissions to the Supreme Court of Canada.  Over his varied legal career, he has also gained significant experience in commercial litigation and business law.

Dean received his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario bar in 2003. Prior to attending law school, he received an Honour's Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trent University and a Master of Arts Degree from York University. 

He spent several years working as a law instructor at two overseas law schools and enjoys the intricacies of the law.  Nevertheless, while appreciating the necessity of thorough legal analysis, he believes that most legal issues can best be dealt with in a practical, common sense manner.  

Dean is a member of a number of professional and community organizations in the Hamilton area.  He enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and friends.
